Rainbow
of Ribbons Race and Fun Run

The first Rainbow of Ribbons Race and Fun Run for a Cure presented by the A Way With Words Foundation, Inc. was held Saturday, October 4, 2008 in downtown Youngstown, Ohio. The R.O.C.c.K. Children's Choir sang the National Anthem.

The winner of the 5k Ribbons Race was a tie between Eric Turner and Mike Stigenbauer, both from Cleveland, Ohio. Andy Yantes of Austintown, Ohio finished second. For those who missed this year's benefit contest, watch for your chance next year.

Brenda Rider, co-founder of the A Way With Words Foundation, Inc., wrote the song "Rainbow of Ribbons" that has become the official Relay for Life song of the American Cancer Society. In keeping with the theme that the Foundation covers all cancers, the rainbow of colors was used for this event to designate concern for all those who have been touched by cancer.

Pavlik Music CD Release

October 2008 saw the latest A Way With Words Foundation, Inc. CD release: the song "Kelly 'The Ghost' Pavlik: Everyday Hero" about Middleweight Boxing Champion Kelly Pavlik. Written by Brenda M. Rider, Mike Talanca, and Janeen Williams, the CD was released just before Pavlik's fight in Atlantic City. In his first career loss, Pavlik demonstrated what it means to be a champion in all situations. Pavlik proved the truth of the lyrics on the CD that identify him as a champion.

The people associated with the A Way With Words Foundation understand what it takes to face crushing obstacles and they are glad to have Pavlik join their ranks of heroes. Pavlik lives the Life Maxx™ principle: Never Give Up and live each day the best way you can.

This CD was produced with the help of many special persons who donated their time and considerable talent to help those challenged by cancer:

Jack Loew, Pavlik's trainer - skipped rope for the introduction sounds
Mike Baranski - electric guitar
Brenda M. Rider - acoustic guitar and dictionary
Dennis Augusta - keyboard
John Sferra - drummer
Mike Talanca and Janeen Williams - singers
Tune Town Recording - recording and sound engineering
Charlotte Labuda - CD art

Kelly Pavlik has generously asked that all proceeds from the sale of this CD be donated to the A Way With World Foundation, Inc. and the R.O.C.c.K. Children's Choir in their fight to help and support those touched by cancer.

AWWWF BENEFIT GARAGE SALE !!!

RESULTS: 77 for can support projects.

Halloween had a surprise goodie this year --- a Garage Sale to benefit the A Way With Words Foundation, Inc. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on October 31 and November 1, the garage sale was open for holiday shoppers and anyone looking for just the right thing while helping children affected by cancer.
At the sale, gently used furniture, electronics, house wares, toys, holiday decorations, a washing machine, and more were eagerly purchased by the crowds that appeared.
The AWWWF Benefit Garage Sale was held at 4032 Mahoning Ave., Austintown, Ohio, just east of the Wickliffe Avenue Fire Station. The use of the building has been graciously donated for an indefinite period to the A Way With Words Foundation, Inc. by Jim Steiner, Jr. When we added a warehouse to our wishlist we never imagined that it would lead to this fantastic beginning!
Money raised from this event enable the R.O.C.c.K. Children's Choir to take their message and joy to the community. Proceeds also help to raise cancer awareness, assist local cancer programs, and of course, support cancer research.
